 I am Jeya Priyadharshini, originally from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and currently living in Canada. I am a software engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and I have also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA). My love for my native language, Tamil, was nurtured by my grandmother and mother during my school years. Saranya is originally from Mayiladuthurai, India, and holds a Master’s degree in Computers from Adhiyamaan College in Hosur. She has been residing in Toronto, Canada, since 2017. A dedicated member of her community, Saranya has volunteered at a Toronto public school as a School Advisory Council Member and as a co-teacher for a Tamil class. She has a strong interest in Tamil language and actively participated in various Tamil competitions during her education. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, creating Rangoli art, and easily mingling with children.

I am Ramya B. P., a passionate and dedicated educator with a Master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). My professional journey spans both the telecommunications industry (Infosys) and the field of school education.

As a native Tamil speaker, I take great pride in my cultural roots and am deeply committed to sharing the richness and values of the Tamil language through education.

I believe in fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. With a focus on nurturing creativity, curiosity, and kindness, I strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my students and in the field of education.

Kamalambal graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University in 2001. Since then, her career has spanned various sectors, including call centers, technology, finance, retail, and insurance. She is now entering a new phase as a Montessori guide for children aged 0-3 years.

An avid reader of Tamil books since the sixth grade, Kamalambal believes in the importance of introducing language learning to children at a very young age. She is deeply thankful to the Lakshmi Tamil School for starting her own child’s journey in Tamil and views teaching as an opportunity to give back to the community. She looks forward to the mutual learning and growth she will experience alongside her students.

Geetha is an enthusiastic grandmother of four teenagers, currently residing in Atlanta. Originally from Coimbatore, she worked with LIC of India before retiring. After retirement, she chose to spend her time with her grandchildren in the US.

She has a deep love for Carnatic music and is herself a proficient singer and Veena player. Passionate about nurturing young talent, she currently teaches Veena to children. Geetha is also highly artistic and enjoys exploring different forms of art, including Tanjore painting and mural arts.

A great admirer of Bharathiar, she finds joy in writing simple Tamil poetry. Above all, she is deeply passionate about passing on the love of languages to the younger generation. Never one to sit idle, Geetha is delighted to join Lakshmi Tamil School and inspire children to learn and enjoy Tamil.

I’m Divya Gnanasekaran from Erode, Tamil Nadu. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology and have 3 years of corporate IT experience in India.

I enjoy gardening, organizing spaces, and spending quality time with family—activities that reflect my love for nurturing growth and maintaining balance.

As someone who deeply values language and heritage, I believe that learning Tamil offers children a meaningful connection to their roots while opening doors to shared wisdom and cultural understanding.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this school and its wonderful community.

Mrs. Saranya Rajesh Kumar is a warm and dedicated Tamil teacher with a deep passion for early childhood education. Based in Dallas, TX, she has been volunteering at the Metroplex Tamil Academy for the past four years, teaching Tamil to young children up to Grade 5.
Saranya specializes in introducing the Tamil language through songs, stories, rhymes, and playful activities, making learning fun and engaging. She holds a Diploma in Teacher Education and has a strong academic background in Tamil language studies.
Her gentle approach and patient nature help children feel at ease as they begin their journey of speaking, reading, and understanding Tamil. Saranya firmly believes in fostering a love for the language from an early age by creating a joyful and supportive classroom environment.
Loved by both students and parents alike, she plays a vital role in laying a strong foundation in Tamil for her young learners.

Poorani Vijayakumar, a software engineer with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, has lived across the globe. After residing in India, Singapore, and Canada, she moved to Texas a year ago. She completed her schooling and undergraduate education in Chennai.
Her love for Tamil was nurtured by her father during her school years. A passionate Ponniyin Selvan enthusiast, she read the epic novel as early as seventh grade and has visited many of the historical sites mentioned in it.
As a native Tamil speaker, she strongly believes that every child should learn and cherish their mother tongue, no matter where they live.
On the creative side, Poorani enjoys playing the veena, dancing, and painting—especially Indian folk art such as Madhubani, Phad paintings, and nature-inspired scenery.
